How the recession is affecting advertising.

January 28, 2010 Bloggies by Jacob Murphy Edit

I'm sure we've all noticed it, the advertising climate is changing, where once there were well produced adverts for new cars and wrist watches there are now cheap looking ad's for local weight loss clinics and C list celebrities biographies.

While that may be bad news for mass media (the current forerunners in advertising) it's an incredible opportunity for ourselves and the other underdogs of the advertising game.

With companies everywhere struggling to cut their expenses in every possible way switching to a cheaper advertising source may be a great means to achieve their goals. Every revolution requires an instigator, and I firmly believe that this global recession may provide that spark for an equally global renaissance in advertising.

Every cloud has a silver lining, but this one, it appears, is encrusted in diamonds (for the advertising world at least). While it may offer little consolation for those unfortunate millions who have lost their jobs, it will guide businesses out of the darkness of mass media commercials towards the light of Uber targeted advertisement.

We are about to enter a golden age of advertising, now may be the ONLY opportunity for you to get on board as we may be closing our doors to new customers pretty soon. So, for advertisers and eBayers alike, get ready to be at the cutting edge of modernity, welcome to AdZey.com

How to get the best value from your adverts

January 05, 2010 Bloggies by Jacob Murphy Edit

If you've watched the video on our home page then you'll know that our adverts have regularly delivered conversion rates of 25% or more for many of our customers, but how can you achieve these great figures? Follow these 5 tips to make our system work for you!

1.Think carefully about what products you would like to advertise with.

If you sell iPod accessories, consider sending your ad's with new iPods. People who have just purchased a new product are likely to be interested in accessories for it.

If you sell new iPods, consider sending your adverts with replacement parts for broken devices. If a person is ordering spare parts it is likely that their iPod has recently broken and will want to replace it. If you would like any advice in this area please don't hesitate to contact us.

2.Think carefully about which online store you would like to partner with.

Trust is a major factor in any online purchase. Many people are still afraid to pay for a product that they cannot see. Amazon however has managed to gain the trust of most internet users to a degree that you can no longer be sure that Amazon customers will feel safe ordering from your store.

If you are worried about this happening to you, consider only shipping your adverts with products sold on eBay or independent eCommerce stores.

3.Geo-target your adverts!

If you do not ship your products worldwide then consider targeting your campaign even further by Geo-targeting your adverts. This way adverts are only sent to people in your delivery area.

4.Carefully plan your campaigns time frame.

If you sell a product that is more likely to be purchased at a particular time or year. eg. Christmas lights, or valentines day cards it's important to plan how long your campaign will take, allowing time for shipping ect.

5.Take care when designing your advert.

A well designed advert will prove far more successfull than a poorly designed one. If you would like, we can design it for you for a small fee.

These 5 tips, if followed carefully, will ensure that you receive a constant flow of uber targeted super high quality traffic. You should however be aware that you still need to provide a quality product/service at a reasonable price if you wish to achieve the conversion rates mentioned.

Spend it with your families, with your friends, on holidays or at home but please, whatever you do don’t spend it at work.

I’d also like to thank all AdZey.com employees, I regularly give you your fair kudos myself but rarely do we make it public. I truly hope, from the bottom of my heart, that everyone of you, from the level 1 call centre guys right up to the suits taking up space around the board table have a very merry Christmas, and a happy New year.

Dreaming of a white one,

Seven reasons why untargeted advertisement doesn’t, can’t and won’t work for your business.

Seven reasons why untargeted advertisement doesn’t, can’t and won’t work for your business.
With so many sites out there offering half a million hits for a hundred bucks or less it’s tempting to forget everything you’ve ever heard about eCommerce and try to make your business a success with them. Well, next time you feel that way just think about the following 7 reasons to rethink.
1.You want BUYERS not VISITORS! If you buy untargeted traffic then the people you’re paying to visit your site are completely random. If your site is eBay or Amazon that’s ok (because they sell everything) but if you operate a niche site then you will struggle to convert these hits into sales!
2.Low quality traffic won’t click on your Adverts! All cheap traffic systems use adware or pop-ups to trick users into visiting your site. The only ting these people will click is the back button on their browser!
3.It will ruin your reputation. Unless you’ve been living in a cave on mars with your fingers in your ears for the last five years you will have noticed that it’s a very specific type of site that uses pop-ups, porn sites, gaming sites, basically they are not sites that you’d like to be associated with.
4.It won’t generate a “buzz”. This is one of the reasons we hear most often for using cheap advertising methods. It simply isn’t true. People who have been tricked into visiting your site will not even read your content, and they certainly won’t blog about it!
5.Visitors who don’t buy actually cost you money! Sure, an individual visitor won’t cost you much but a million visitors will cost a considerable amount in bandwidth. Be sure to factor this in if you do decide to order mass traffic.
6.It (probably) won’t affect your Alexa ranking. Your Alexa ranking only counts visits from users with the Alexa plug-in installed. Users who get tricked into visiting your site are (generally) not the most computer literate and will therefore not have the plug-in installed.
7.Decreases value of advertisement on your site- If you use CPM (cost per ‘000) adverts on your site then you will know that your clients monitor very closely the number of clicks, and the quality of clicks they get. If you pay to have thousands, hundreds of thousands or even millions or visitors be sent to your site then the number of clicks per thousand views will decrease drastically. This will Permanently reduce the value of Ad slots on your site.
So now we’ve convinced you that untargeted advertisement won’t work for your business, where should you go? We advise www.AdZey.com they provide Uber targeted advertisement but there are many other quality targeted advertisement providers out there. Take care when choosing!
